Day 4, September 2
Grand Canyon Area
As we entered the Grand canyon area, we stopped at an overlook run by the Navajo tribal government. To get to the overlook, one has to walk through an area of stalls selling jewelry, pottery, etc. The view of the Little Colorado's canyon, while just a warmup for the main event, is worth seeing.

We drove on to the east entrance, and then on to the main eastern overlook at Desert View. Such vistas! Especially with the evening sun lighting the western faces of the canyon. Enjoy:

We then drove west along the South Rim, stopping to take pictures at various spots along the way. Here are some from the rim, from Grandview Point and from Mather Point:
The day over, we retired to the motel, returning the next morning to take more pictures (see link below).
