• Poverty Point State Historic Site (a National Monument managed by the state)
• Columbia, LA (Schepis Museum art gallery and Watermark Saloon)
• Mamou (Cajun Music Capitol), and
• Gueydan (where Bill's great-grandparents are buried).

While in Lake Charles, we visited places where Bill once lived, attended school, and played.

• We also made a side trip to Cameron Prairie National Wildlife Refuge, Cameron, and
• Holly Beach (to see what was left of the Cajun Riviera).

During our return trip, we stopped at

• Hodges Gardens State Park
• The Adai-Caddo Indian Nation Cultural Center
• Visited a friend in Shreveport
• Dug for diamonds at Crater of Diamonds State Park, and
• Toured the mounds at Ka Do Ha Indian Village.
