We started off driving down the Teche to St. Martinville, home of the Evangeline Oak and Longfellow-Evangeline State Park

The Longfellow-Evangeline State Park was full of students from the local school system. Bill went there on a field trip when he was in school!

We took the southern route through a series of South Louisiana towns to Gueydan, where Bill's Confederate great-grandfather is buried. Here's their graves

We left Gueydan & continued to Lake Charles, where we checked in at the Holiday Inn Express and rested up a bit for the evening reunion activities.
