    Clinton, Missouri is our very favorite nearby town. It's a town that has its act together! Clinton was in the news lately because of the building collapse - Pictures are included here, as well as other pictures from their classic courthouse square.

    The county seat of Henry County and the western gateway to Truman Reservoir.

      • Olde Glory Days on one of Missouri's best courthouse squares is a great old-time July 4th celebration;
      • Clinton rodeo around July 4th weekend.
      • Clinton is now the Western Terminus for Missouri's Katy Trail, the nation's premier Rails to Trails conversion.

      • County museum off NW corner of Square.
      • El Camino Real, near MO-13 and MO-18.
      • Smith's, in the shopping center east of McDonald's

      Building Collapse
      The Elks Lodge building collapsed on June 26th, a few days before the 2006 Olde Glory Days celebration, sponsored by the Elks Lodge in celebration of their centennial in Clinton. The leader of the Clinton Elks died in the collapse. These are pictures taken on Wednesday immediately after the event. It has now been rebuilt into a very nice facility.
